Meta has rolled out voice and video chat capabilities for its consumer AI agent Muse in the United States, offering customizable animated digital avatars powered by related technology, with support for real-time calls and video interaction. The feature was first unveiled at the Meta Connect developer conference. The avatar can display matching facial expressions and gestures during conversations and respond in real time based on voice input, and is now fully supported on mobile devices, the web, and the Mac platform. This feature is a key part of Meta's consumer AI strategy. Meta plans to launch a portable wearable device before the end of the year and will subsequently extend related features to more hardware—a move that will further intensify competition in generative AI for personal devices and emotional companionship.
