Palo Alto Networks is in advanced talks to acquire Clutch Security, a three-year-old Israeli cybersecurity startup, for approximately $500 million, according to people familiar with the matter. If completed, the deal would mark Palo Alto's fifth announced acquisition this year as the company broadens its product portfolio to counter security threats posed by emerging artificial intelligence technologies. Clutch Security develops software that helps enterprises track passwords and authentication codes used by AI agents. Negotiations are ongoing and may still fall through. A Palo Alto spokesperson said the company does not comment on rumors or speculation, while a Clutch Security spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
