Former Claude Code Product Lead Cat Wu has announced she is joining OpenAI to lead core product management, working alongside Tibo. OpenAI President Greg Brockman posted a welcome message. Cat Wu had announced her departure from Anthropic just the day before, making for a seamless transition. She is the third key member of the Claude Code team to leave within two weeks. Ten days earlier, two engineers involved in Claude Code development had already departed in quick succession: Thariq Shihipar, who was responsible for the Agent feature, Skills, and context engineering, and Anthony Morris, who built the Claude Code desktop version.
