A review of 17,151 publicly posted social recruitment positions at three major tech companies—ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent—found that 9,183 are AI-related roles, and 32.5% of them require no hard programming threshold, making them friendly to liberal arts graduates. These roles are mainly concentrated in product, operations, content, and other fields, and are distributed across business segments such as Douyin E-commerce, Taotian, and Tencent IEG. The work mostly involves setting evaluation standards, content creation, and building vertical-category rules, requiring humanistic literacy, aesthetics, and user insight. Statistics show that such positions have far lower educational and major restrictions than R&D-oriented AI roles, placing more emphasis on proficiency in using large models. Leading overseas AI companies are also hiring large numbers of practitioners with backgrounds in philosophy, literature, linguistics, and other humanities fields. In the AI era, the programming threshold has dropped significantly, the traditional boundary between arts and sciences has been broken, and the value of judgment and the ability to output tacit knowledge has become prominent; past weaknesses may turn into advantages. It is recommended that liberal arts graduates use large models extensively, prepare personal portfolios, and seize new opportunities in the AI field.
