At the Intelligent Technology Innovation and Governance Forum during the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, Ge Yue, Apple's Vice President and Managing Director of Greater China, said that artificial intelligence is accelerating the transformation of app development models, but it will not replace apps. Instead, it will drive the next generation of apps to become more powerful, more personalized, and even more indispensable tools in daily life. Ge Yue noted that Apple has always believed in the potential of developers and apps. Last year, billings and sales facilitated by the China App Store ecosystem reached $562 billion, an increase of $23 billion over the previous year. Chinese developers continue to accelerate their pace of globalization, with three-quarters of them having expanded their businesses overseas, and overseas revenue accounting for more than 50%.
