November 3 — Meta Platforms plans to issue at least $20 billion in bonds across the U.S. and European markets, marking its return to the dollar bond market after a six-month hiatus. The move is aimed at financing artificial intelligence infrastructure investments. Tech giants are currently facing investor skepticism over AI infrastructure spending. People familiar with the matter said the issuance is divided into five tranches with maturities ranging from 5 to 30 years, and the longest-dated bond is initially priced at about 2.5 percentage points above U.S. Treasury yields. Meta issued $25 billion in bonds in April this year, with peak subscription demand reaching $96 billion. Since then, however, market enthusiasm for AI-related bonds has faded, with investors demanding higher yield premiums. Citigroup and Morgan Stanley are underwriting the issuance.
