Westlake University has established a university-level interdisciplinary research platform—the Westlake World Model Research Center—at its Yungu Campus. Yu Kaicheng serves as director, Jin Yaochu as chief scientist, and multiple principal investigators jointly undertake research tasks across various directions. The center is oriented toward the development of artificial intelligence as it moves from language cognition to physical interaction, with a focus on world models and physical intelligence. It is committed to breaking through core bottlenecks in intelligent systems—specifically in understanding physical laws, predicting environmental changes, and conducting interactive decision-making—and to building an internationally leading academic hub and innovation engine for physical intelligence.
