On October 29th, the International Brain-Computer Interface Industry Innovation Conference for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area took place in Shenzhen, coinciding with the launch of China's inaugural Guangming Brain Science and Technology Week. During this event, a cutting-edge, non-invasive ultrasound brain-computer interface technology captured considerable interest. Developed by research teams, including those from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this technology facilitates communication with the brain through ultrasound, eliminating the necessity for craniotomy or electrode implantation.
Currently, brain-computer interface technologies are predominantly classified into three categories: invasive, semi-invasive, and non-invasive. The new-generation non-invasive ultrasound brain-computer interface technology has blazed a trail in the realm of non-invasive techniques.
