On October 26th, reports surfaced indicating that artificial intelligence startup Anthropic had recently declared the acquisition of an additional $77 billion in financing from tech giants Google, Amazon, and Broadcom. Specifically, Amazon's financing deal is contingent upon Anthropic hitting particular milestones related to computing power. Meanwhile, Google has pledged to contribute $20 billion, with a portion of this funding dependent on Anthropic achieving certain revenue benchmarks. As leading hyperscale cloud service providers, Google and Amazon, despite being in competition with Anthropic, have collectively poured tens of billions of dollars into the company. This strategic investment has not only made them Anthropic's largest shareholders but has also played a pivotal role in enabling Anthropic to fulfill its substantial computing power requirements.
