On October 26th, according to The Korea Times citing the latest report from South Korean think tank Rockbridge Network Korea, from January to August 2026, South Korean developers released a total of 1,845 models on Hugging Face, the world's largest open-source model community. Among them, models based on Chinese models accounted for 49.3%, with Alibaba's Qwen having the highest proportion at 46.8%, far surpassing the 35.9% of U.S. models and the 14.9% of South Korean domestic models.
