A fresh wave of AI-powered hardware products is sweeping across the market, spanning smartphones, smart glasses, smart rings, and maternal-infant care devices. AI hardware is swiftly making inroads into a wider array of consumer scenarios. Wu Zhige, Associate Research Vice President at International Data Corporation (IDC) China, pointed out that the flurry of AI hardware launches in this cycle is mainly spurred by the strides made in AI technology. These advancements have fueled relentless upgrades in software, applications, and usage scenarios, sparking a soaring demand for on-device computing capabilities. Moreover, the maturation of personal IT hardware technology, the saturation of the smartphone market, and a well-oiled supply chain have all played a part in driving this concentrated rollout of new products. Nonetheless, at this juncture, these new offerings are still largely geared towards market testing and gauging consumer demand.
