On October 16, Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh announced during the IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok that the Fed's Task Force on Productivity and Employment will hold a field hearing on November 16 in the San Francisco Bay Area, focusing on the impact of AI on the economy and the job market. Established by Warsh in June this year, the task force comprises five groups of external experts and aims to study key areas in monetary policy formulation. Warsh expects the task force to submit policy recommendations to the Federal Reserve around the end of the year. On this occasion, he did not comment on monetary policy or the U.S. economic outlook.
