On October 13, German think tank IFO stated on Tuesday that if access to artificial intelligence training data is further restricted, Germany could lose an additional value of €155 billion (approximately US$173.43 billion) annually. IFO research predicts that by 2034, generative artificial intelligence could contribute €440 billion in annual output value to the German economy, but restricted data access would reduce this increase by €155 billion. IFO expert Oliver Falck emphasized that to create leading European artificial intelligence models, unnecessary restrictions on access to training data should not be imposed.
