On October 10 (local time), Musk stated at the X Takeover event held at Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, that many seemingly cool robot demonstrations are not true artificial intelligence. He believes that genuine AI should be able to autonomously handle entirely new and unknown tasks and scenarios without prior training or human intervention. Musk pointed out that a significant number of current robot demonstrations rely on pre-programming or remote control, lacking the ability to generalize to entirely new environments. Taking Tesla's Optimus humanoid robot as an example, he emphasized that precise hand operations, tactile perception, and AI generalization capabilities are the technical challenges that urgently need to be overcome.
