On October 12, during the opening ceremony of the 26th China International Industry Fair, Wang Weiming, the Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), outlined four key strategies:
Firstly, to bolster innovation-driven industrial development, MIIT will enhance basic research and address critical core technologies. This involves clarifying the leading role of enterprises in scientific and technological innovation, refining the layout of industrial innovation platforms, fostering the growth of new high-tech sectors within national zones, and expediting the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements.
Secondly, MIIT aims to facilitate the optimization and upgrading of the industrial system. This will be achieved by maintaining and developing a comprehensive industrial framework, coordinating the large-scale application of emerging industries, making forward-looking layouts for future industries, and revitalizing and upgrading traditional sectors. Additionally, MIIT will promote the cultivation of advanced manufacturing tailored to local conditions, advance the integration of 'AI + Manufacturing' on a deeper level, vigorously develop open-source foundation models and vertical model industry clusters, and foster the growth of world-class enterprises.
Thirdly, MIIT will solidify the foundation of intelligent software and hardware. This includes increasing support for the digital transformation of enterprises, nurturing industry-specific digital transformation service providers, and establishing smart factories and high-standard digital parks.
Lastly, MIIT is committed to building a mutually beneficial and win-win industrial ecosystem, fostering collaboration and growth across the industrial landscape.
