Recently, Ant Group’s AI offering, ‘Lingguang,’ has commenced a small-scale beta test for its latest iteration, positioning itself as a competitor to Meta’s personal AI agent, Muse. According to reports, Meta unveiled Muse in September of this year—an AI agent designed to seamlessly integrate into users’ daily routines while continuously monitoring and adapting to their evolving needs. Sources familiar with the project have revealed that the development of ‘Lingguang’ has been in progress for around six months, undergoing multiple rounds of refinement during this time, with a comprehensive launch scheduled for this month.

The crux of this upgrade lies in ‘Lingguang’s’ transformation from a mere AI assistant capable of engaging in conversations and generating applications, to a fully AI-native personal agent endowed with long-term memory and the capacity to proactively drive tasks forward. The new version also introduces functionalities such as message transmission via DingTalk and smart home device control through the invocation of Skill and MCP. Reportedly, the beta test scenarios for ‘Lingguang’ 2.0 are centered around long-term, highly variable situations that are challenging for the average person to oversee. These include aiding office workers in tracking market fluctuations, assisting parents with DingTalk check-ins, and rearranging travel itineraries in the event of flight delays or capacity constraints at tourist attractions.
