According to Sanghyun Lee's LinkedIn profile, he is based in Singapore, previously worked at Google for six years, and joined OpenAI in April this year. Currently, the specific reasons for his departure remain unclear. Sanghyun Lee was responsible for leading OpenAI's public policy and government liaison efforts in Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, and Southeast Asia, including building and maintaining relationships with senior policymakers, regulators, and others to support the responsible development and application of AI.
