On October 8, during a routine press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning addressed queries concerning the date of the inaugural session of the China-U.S. AI dialogue mechanism and the potential participation of senior officials from both nations. She recommended directing such inquiries to the relevant Chinese authorities. Earlier, at the Washington summit between the leaders of China and the United States, an agreement was reached to institute an AI dialogue mechanism. This mechanism encompasses discussions on the associated risks and benefits of AI, with the next dialogue slated for November 2026. Additionally, communication channels for AI-related incidents were also established as part of this agreement.
