As generative AI-produced content rapidly spreads across the internet, the ability to tell real digital content from fake has grown ever more crucial. On October 7, 2026, Google formally rolled out the SynthID detection website to the general public. Through this platform, users can upload image, video, or audio files to check if they were created or altered using AI. The website is capable of detecting AI-generated content not only from Google but also from its partners, including OpenAI, NVIDIA, Kakao, and more, with Apple slated to join the lineup soon. At present, SynthID watermarking technology has been integrated into more than 180 billion images and videos, along with audio content equivalent to about 240,000 years.
