On October 4, during the 23rd Annual Forum on Science, Technology, and Society, 17 countries—among them the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Germany—came together to support the 'Kyoto Vision for a Golden Age of Science'. The declaration put forward the idea that researchers should be granted broader access to AI tools, scientific data, computing infrastructure, and experimental facilities. Furthermore, it advocated for reforms in the funding and organization of scientific research, a lightening of administrative burdens, and a boost in the efficiency of scientific discovery.
