On October 1, SoftBank Group made an announcement stating that it had successfully concluded the third and ultimate round of additional investment in OpenAI via SoftBank Vision Fund 2, with a substantial sum of $10 billion. This move signifies the complete disbursement of the entire $30 billion in additional investment that SoftBank had previously committed to. Following the completion of this investment, SoftBank's cumulative investment in OpenAI has surged to $64.6 billion, granting it an approximate 13% stake. The financial resources for this investment were derived from the foreign currency-denominated senior bonds that SoftBank unveiled on September 24.
