On September 30th, Bridgewater Associates, a globally renowned hedge fund, predicted that nearly one-fifth of the U.S. labor market could be impacted if AI lacks effective regulation and society is unprepared for technological changes. In an interview, Bridgewater CEO Nir Bar Dea expressed optimism about AI's positive impacts but also acknowledged its potential for severe negative consequences. He estimated that AI could affect 18% of the U.S. workforce and raised concerns that this could trigger large-scale social disorder.
