On September 30, DeepSeek made an official announcement regarding the open-sourcing of key infrastructure components tailored for Huawei's Ascend computing power platform. These components encompass the TileLang high-level language compilation tool, computing libraries, and distributed communication libraries. Notably, each of these components has a direct counterpart in the previously open-sourced suite designed for NVIDIA's platform. This latest open-source initiative encompasses the fundamental computing and communication functionalities of the Ascend platform, exemplified by DeepGEMM, which accelerates matrix operations, and DeepEP, which facilitates cross-device communication. In multiple tests, these components have demonstrated performance levels that closely approach the hardware's maximum capabilities. Throughout the development phase, the Huawei team offered extensive support, and both entities collaborated closely to advance the 128-card super-node solution and refine computing-communication optimizations.
