Google has made an announcement stating that users with free Gemini accounts are now eligible to create and utilize the Skills feature. Initially, Google had intended to transition the Gems feature over to Skills by November 17, 2026. Given that Skills was originally a premium offering, there were doubts regarding whether free - tier users would gain access to it. However, Google has now provided clarification, confirming that free users will indeed be able to use this feature. The Gems content created by users will be seamlessly and automatically migrated to Skills, eliminating the need for any manual intervention. Moreover, users can continue to use Gems as usual prior to the migration process.
