OpenAI had initially set its sights on unveiling the enhanced GPT-6.1 Astra model in the foreseeable future. Yet, during rigorous internal safety evaluations, it became apparent that the model fell short of the requisite release benchmarks in several behavioral assessments. Consequently, OpenAI has made the prudent decision to postpone the rollout until all identified issues have been addressed and the model fully complies with the established standards. This strategic delay will afford the development team additional time to refine and rectify any outstanding concerns.
