A federal appeals court panel in Washington D.C. ruled on Friday to uphold the Pentagon's designation of AI company Anthropic on its blacklist. In this legal battle that has lasted for several months, Anthropic suffered a major setback. The panel dismissed Anthropic's appeal with a vote of 2-1. Anthropic had previously argued that the Department of Defense's decision to ban its Claude large model was an arbitrary administrative action, lacking statutory authorization and violating the Constitution.
