At the Connect 2026 conference, Meta took the wraps off a series of hardware products, all underpinned by the innovative Muse personal AI agent, with the ambition to construct an intelligent ecosystem that seamlessly integrates work, entertainment, and daily life. The Muse AI agent, which is built on the robust Muse Spark model, stands out for its ability to multitask across various applications. Moreover, it comes with a dedicated secure virtual computer, granting users the flexibility to tailor its attributes to their specific needs. Looking ahead, Meta plans to introduce confidential virtual machines to bolster the security of user data even further. Among the two AI glasses introduced, the first, the camera-less Ray-Ban Meta Audio, zeroes in on music, calling, and voice interaction features. Priced starting at $349, it is set to hit the shelves on October 13. The second model, the third-generation Ray-Ban Meta, retains the camera and boasts enhanced shooting and audio capabilities. With a starting price of $449, it will be available for purchase from September 24 onwards. Additionally, the Meta VR Glasses, tipping the scales at around 100 grams, prioritize functions such as private cinema viewing and multi-screen office work. They carry a starting price of $1,299 and are expected to make their debut in the spring of 2027. Another noteworthy addition is the Muse Charm, a compact, standalone hardware accessory that can be conveniently hung on a keychain. It supports one-click activation of Muse and is slated for release around the December 2026 holiday season. Currently, the landscape of AI hardware competition is undergoing a transformation, shifting from a focus on the standalone capabilities of individual products to a broader contest centered on the cohesion and versatility of entire device ecosystems.
