On the 20th (local time), Marvell made an announcement that it would present the industry's inaugural 2nm optical technology tailored for AI data center infrastructure at the 2026 ECOC European Conference on Optical Communication. During the event, a total of 38 cutting-edge technologies will be on display, encompassing the 2nm optical communication technology and the next-generation AI Fabric co-packaged optics (CPO) technology. Marvell emphasized that as AI data center architectures continue to evolve, operators are in urgent need of optical interconnect technologies that are not only faster but also consume less power and offer enhanced security to facilitate the scaling of AI. Improving bandwidth density and energy efficiency stands as a crucial factor in effectively scaling AI infrastructure.
