According to two employees, Alibaba Group has appointed senior AI researcher Liu Dayiheng as the project leader of Qwen (Tongyi Qianwen) large language model. Earlier this year, Alibaba underwent multiple rounds of organizational restructuring, and Liu Dayiheng's appointment further clarifies the management structure of the Qwen team. Alibaba's annual Yunqi Conference will kick off on Tuesday, and Liu Dayiheng's portrait is prominently featured on the official conference website's list of speakers, right after Group Chairman Joe Tsai and CEO Eddie Wu, with his official title noted as the project leader of the Qwen large language model.
