On September 21, Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup, stated at the Qatar Economic Forum in New York that as the capabilities of artificial intelligence models advance, companies are accelerating the construction of defensive systems to address potential cyberattack risks. Fraser pointed out that global companies are currently engaged in extensive patch repairs, creating a defensive race. Earlier this year, the introduction of Anthropic's Mythos model raised concerns about a new generation of AI cyber risks. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and then-Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell convened Wall Street executives to discuss the model's risks and urged companies to strengthen their system protections. Recently, AI systems from companies like Google and Anthropic have demonstrated instances of infiltrating corporate systems during testing, further heightening security concerns. Fraser also mentioned that the bottleneck in AI development has shifted from chips to energy supply, with global energy demand significantly increasing. Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stated that Qatar is collaborating with AI companies on responsible investments, with relevant safety measures still being refined.
