The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) plans to launch an AI-driven air traffic management tool, Smart, which could be deployed as early as next week in one of the busiest aviation corridors in the United States. The software aims to reduce flight delays and cancellations and plan alternative routes for flights during emergencies. According to government and aviation industry officials, the system will initially be piloted in Washington, D.C., before being gradually rolled out nationwide.
