The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and IBM Research have jointly released and open-sourced the first lunar model, with model weights and code made available globally. As one of the first publicly accessible intelligent analysis tools specifically designed for lunar science, this model aims to transform fragmented lunar observation data into reusable analytical tools, supporting crater mapping, volcanic feature identification, and assessment of water ice potential in polar regions. The model integrates multimodal data from missions such as NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, addressing the challenge of Unified call (unified utilization) data with varying resolutions and payloads, and holds significant importance for lunar resource exploration.
