On September 17 (local time), Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk announced a collaboration with artificial intelligence company Anthropic to advance drug development using its scientific research-oriented platform, Claude Science. The focus will be on addressing scientific issues with the greatest potential for real-world impact to expedite the discovery and development of new drugs. Novo Nordisk, the manufacturer of diabetes and weight-loss medications Ozempic and Wegovy, had previously partnered with OpenAI and established an AI Innovation Center with Amazon Web Services. This collaboration also incorporates rigorous data governance and human oversight mechanisms to ensure the responsible application of AI.
