Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, stated that artificial intelligence labs should rely on independent evaluators and consultants to ensure model safety. On Tuesday, he posted on X platform that hiring independent evaluators and consultants represents industry best practices. Currently, as more and more tech executives are participating in global discussions on how to prevent AI systems from harming humans, Zuckerberg is also involved. Some executives support slowing down the pace of AI research and development and call for collaboration among all parties to reach a consensus. Zuckerberg revealed that Meta has independently decided to temporarily halt the development of the Muse AI tool but has not requested its peers to slow down simultaneously.
