OpenAI is currently in the initial stages of exploring a fresh round of private funding with major investors, with an ambitious target valuation of around $1.2 trillion, as it sets its sights on a potential future Initial Public Offering (IPO). Back in March of this year, the company's valuation had already soared to $852 billion. More recently, propelled by the introduction of new AI models, there has been a resurgence in market demand, propelling OpenAI's annualized revenue to exceed $40 billion. Nonetheless, it's important to note that these negotiations are still in their infancy, and both the funding amount and the valuation figure are subject to change. CEO Sam Altman has made it clear that the company does not anticipate going public before 2027, while also highlighting the ongoing need for substantial capital investment in training large-scale AI models.
