He clarified that the information accessible to Xiaowei does not extend beyond what users themselves can view; for instance, deleted Moments posts are not visible to it. Xiaowei suggests queries based on data from followed official accounts, video accounts, browsing history, and interactions, yet it strictly adheres to the same privacy boundaries. Regarding chat logs, Xiaowei is only temporarily activated when users initiate an "Ask Xiaowei" query. It locally retrieves recent chat information from the WeChat client for analysis and summarization, without retaining the original chat logs, following a "use-and-discard" principle. Claims that Xiaowei can "directly access chat logs" or "infringe on all privacy" are unfounded.

It is reported that WeChat Xiaowei is an AI assistant developed in-house by the WeChat team and is currently undergoing small-scale internal testing. Users can interact with Xiaowei via text or voice to inquire about weather, express deliveries, food orders, and more. Xiaowei can also be summoned at any time within Moments, official accounts, chats, and video accounts to summarize content and provide supplementary information.
