According to Tomshardware, Anthropic is currently facing inquiries from several major clients concerning its practice of utilizing proprietary data for model training. These companies are pressing Anthropic for guarantees on data usage and are seeking to limit the extent to which their models are employed, voicing apprehensions that their intellectual property might be integrated into the training process. The controversy stems from Anthropic's policy shift in June of this year, which now permits the company to retain client data. C Spire has entered into an agreement with Anthropic to forbid the use of its data for training purposes, but it still harbors concerns regarding the extent of data collection. Other companies, including Northrop Grumman, Microsoft, and Novo Nordisk, have also implemented measures to safeguard their data. Additionally, a US utility company has canceled its Fable test because Anthropic declined to implement a zero-data-retention policy.
