On September 14, it was reported that artificial intelligence company Anthropic may still proceed with its initial public offering (IPO) as planned in 2026, selecting Nasdaq as the listing venue. Despite recent heightened attention on AI safety, product liability, and regulatory issues, these factors have not yet impacted its IPO timeline. Anthropic believes that becoming a publicly traded company will enhance AI safety transparency through higher disclosure requirements and external oversight. The company still needs to raise funds through capital markets; while it can rely on private investments in the short term, exiting the capital markets long-term is not considered feasible.
