Three Major U.S. Stock Indices Close Lower Collectively, Large-Cap Tech Stocks Show Mixed Performance

On September 14, the three major U.S. stock indices—namely, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the Nasdaq Composite Index, and the S&P 500 Index—closed lower in unison. Specifically, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped by 0.29%, the Nasdaq Composite Index slid by 0.56%, and the S&P 500 Index decreased by 0.48%. Among large-cap tech stocks, performance was a mixed bag. Intel witnessed a decline exceeding 5%, Nvidia's stock dropped by over 3%, while Tesla and Amazon both saw their shares fall by more than 1%. Conversely, Netflix and Google experienced gains of over 3%, Meta's stock rose by more than 2%, Microsoft's shares increased by over 1%, and Apple posted a slight uptick.

Meanwhile, most of the popular Chinese American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) registered gains. iQIYI surged by more than 4%, Li Auto's stock climbed by over 3%, NetEase and Pinduoduo both rose by more than 2%, and XPeng Group's shares increased by over 1%. On the flip side, Futu Holdings saw its stock decline by more than 1%, while NIO and Alibaba experienced slight decreases.
