On September 9, The New York Times reported that OpenAI announced on Tuesday that its latest artificial intelligence technology has solved one of the 'Millennium Problems'—the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem. This problem was listed as one of the seven 'Millennium Problems' by the Clay Mathematics Institute in 2000, and so far, only one of these problems has been solved. The institute, founded by American businessman Landon T. Clay, offers a $1 million prize for the first correct solution.
