ModelBest and OpenBMB have jointly open-sourced MiniCPM5-2B, a new-generation edge language foundation model. With only 2 billion parameters, the model supports tool invocation, deep search, and code generation, initially forming the prototype of a general-purpose Agent for edge devices. In the authoritative AA benchmark evaluation, the model ranked first in overall capabilities among open-source models with less than 4 billion parameters globally, with its Agentic Index score far surpassing those of peer models, and demonstrated outstanding performance in multiple evaluations. This open-sourcing also includes the concurrent release of the self-developed reinforcement learning framework Meshy and the JustRL II algorithm, along with Day0 adaptations for multiple chips completed in collaboration with several enterprises, accelerating the implementation of the edge AI industry.
