According to TechCrunch, the distribution of Anthropic's $1.5 billion copyright settlement has entered its disbursement phase, but multiple authors have reported that publishers and literary agents are suspected of overclaiming compensation. Victoria Strauss from the advocacy blog Writers Beware stated that complaints primarily focus on two issues: publishers filing claims for works whose copyrights have already been reverted, and publishers claiming 100% of the full compensation when they are only entitled to 50% under the agreement.
