G42, an artificial intelligence company headquartered in Abu Dhabi, is engaged in preliminary discussions to sell a majority stake to a US firm, while also considering options such as establishing a new entity in the United States to restructure its business and ensure continued access to high-end AI chips after April 2027. No final decision has been made yet. Supervised by influential members of the Abu Dhabi royal family, the company was established about eight years ago. Its recent arrangement to purchase cutting-edge AI chips without US approval is set to last until around April 2027, but its representatives declined to comment.
