On September 4, sources close to the situation revealed that G42, an Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence company, is in preliminary discussions with U.S. counterparts regarding the sale of a majority stake. This strategic move aims to ensure a stable supply of advanced AI chips beyond 2025, potentially leading to a significant transformation of the company.

Founded approximately eight years ago under the oversight of royal family members, G42 marks Abu Dhabi’s initial significant venture into the technology sector. Despite recently securing approval to acquire state-of-the-art AI chips without a U.S. license until April 2027, G42 recognizes the need to restructure its corporate framework to sustain long-term access to these critical components. Company executives are exploring multiple avenues, such as inviting a U.S. entity to become the majority shareholder or establishing a new subsidiary within the United States.

As of now, no definitive decision has been reached, and representatives from G42 have chosen not to provide official comments on the matter.
