Morgan Stanley points out that in Asia, the promotion of artificial intelligence (AI) applications and addressing population aging are two core trends, with banks set to emerge as net beneficiaries. Stock strategists Daniel Blake and Jonathan Garner cited Morgan Stanley's model in a client research report, stating that banks in Hong Kong (China) and Singapore are most significantly impacted by these two trends. The report suggests that these banks will benefit from the super-cycle of AI investment, as well as changes in the wealth management landscape and demographic shifts. According to the model, HSBC, DBS, OCBC, Standard Chartered, and UOB exhibit higher exposure to these benefits. However, the strategists remain cautious about Australian banks due to their high valuations, potential monetary policy tightening, and unfavorable adjustments to tax policies.
