On August 30th (local time), OpenClaw released version 2.0 (v2026.8.1). This update was completed by 933 contributors, merging over 16,000 pull requests, making it the largest update in the project's history. The update covers multiple aspects, including installation and communication, with a focus on simplifying the installation process for new users. It supports the reuse of existing AI service subscriptions, API keys, and other resources, lowering the barrier for first-time installation. Meanwhile, the browser application experience has been revamped, with the Overview page removed. Users can now directly enter the conversation interface upon opening a webpage, facilitating real-time task tracking and subsequent configuration.
