On August 31st, the General Office of China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the launch of a dedicated program aimed at nurturing AI application service providers. The initiative seeks to establish a robust team of AI service providers with expertise across industry knowledge, technological proficiency, security practices, and operational capabilities. By the end of 2026, the program aims to have over 2,000 service providers in the national resource pool, forming a multi-tiered structure characterized by rational composition, clear division of labor, and collaborative innovation. This structure is designed to enhance delivery capabilities in complex scenarios. By the end of 2027, the number of service providers is projected to reach at least 3,000, underpinning the construction of an AI application service ecosystem that features all-element collaboration, full-chain integration, and comprehensive scenario coverage.
