On August 31, iFLYTEK made an announcement that it would open-source two edge-side general-purpose large models—Spark X2.5-4B and Spark X2.5-1.7B—on September 1. These models are designed to natively support a maximum context window of 1 million tokens. They place particular emphasis on bolstering core capabilities such as agent functionality, mathematical processing, and general comprehension. This enhancement is aimed at providing robust support for edge-side applications, including in-vehicle systems, smart hardware, and the Internet of Everything.

Furthermore, iFLYTEK is scheduled to officially launch the Spark X2.5 (293B) base model on September 7. This new release will bring further improvements to capabilities like coding and agent performance. Previously, during the 2026 Mid-Year Performance Briefing, iFLYTEK disclosed that at this year's Global 1024 Developers' Festival, the company would introduce a cutting-edge, flagship (Note: adjusted from 'main' for better clarity and context) general-purpose large model. This model will be built entirely on domestic computing power.
