This weekend, two major companies in the Coding Agent field, OpenAI and Anthropic, adopted opposite strategies regarding quota adjustments. OpenAI reset the usage quotas for paid users of Codex and ChatGPT Work, and fixed the previous issue of 'quota theft.' It is expected that after the fix, users will be able to get 10% to 50% more usage with the same quota. Anthropic, on the other hand, announced that starting from September 14, Claude Code will end its policy of temporarily increasing the weekly quota by 50% and instead permanently increase the standard weekly quota by 25%. However, this adjustment still represents a 17% reduction compared to the current actual weekly quota. Additionally, Anthropic also Trailer (pre-announced) that it will introduce a new usage mechanism. Users have reacted differently to the adjustments made by these two companies. Some have made fun of their phrasing, some are considering switching to a different model, and others believe that there are significant differences between the two in terms of maintaining the developer community.
