On August 28, the 2026 HarmonyOS Ecosystem Conference convened in Shenzhen, with Huawei's Xu Zhijun gracing the event and delivering an insightful speech. He announced that the HarmonyOS ecosystem has eclipsed the 100 million-user milestone this year, marking a significant transition from the introductory phase to a robust growth phase and establishing a self-reinforcing virtuous cycle. Looking forward, the HarmonyOS ecosystem is poised to continually refine the user experience and bolster cross-platform development. However, it also confronts two formidable challenges: taking the lead in intelligence within the AI era and achieving globalization. Earlier, Liu Yulin, Director-General of the Information and Communication Development Department at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, remarked that the HarmonyOS mobile operating system has emerged as the third-largest mobile OS globally, boasting over 1.35 billion cumulative open-source HarmonyOS ecosystem devices. Moreover, related systems have been widely adopted across multiple sectors.
